The Vision is Green

the problem:

For the past 18 months I have given every extra minute into building and creating an educational environmental center for the children of the Texas South Plains. Now that the building has been completed, I have several other things that would add to the overall center. For instance, if I would receive this grant, I want to expand on the drip irrigation system to help maintain the landscaping.

vital stats:

people impacted:

10,000

people involved:

2,025

why it's important:

This is important to me because I have spent 18 months on this project. I also have had some landscaping donated but I want to add more around the building that is common to West Texas. I think that not only should the children learn what they need to do to live green but they also need to learn to care for our natural surroundings.

the plan of action:

I want to obtain the materials to add four more drip irrigation barrels and add the Texas Prairie grass to the berme that surrounds 2/3 of the building.

how you can get involved:

I will be recruiting younger Girl Scout troops to help with the planting of the grasses. I am also using the resources I have made at three of the local nureries in my area
