The Weather Channel is seeking students to demonstrate their passion for the environment through entering an essay contest through November 11. Winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Forecast Earth Summit, December 7 – 9, 2007 in Washington, D.C. The three-day Forecast Earth Summit will focus on environmental educational campaigns and will afford 20 students the opportunity to engage in-depth with numerous environmental leaders, enthusiasts and scientists, including Dr. Heidi Cullen, The Weather Channel’s expert climatologist. The Forecast Earth Summit is geared to high school freshman, sophomore and junior students. Entry submission requirements are contact information, photo, and a 200-word essay explaining why the environment is their passion and outlining what personal efforts have been employed to make the planet “clean and green.” Interested students can submit entries online at www.forecastearthsummit.org. The deadline for entry is November 11th.
