The Problem

Theatre 4 Change is a youth run program that brings out the social problems and injustices that gay and lesbian youth encounter in their daily lives, all while highlighting the sorts of positive actions and ideas that our community needs and craves. Theatre 4 Change is a GLBTQ (Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning) acting troop working towards educating people on the topics that GLBTQ youth face in classrooms, at home, at the work place, and in our own personal lives.

Plan of Action

We first had to set up a meeting with the Director of SunServe and then had to find a supervisor who would be willing to not only direct and help our skits, but also be there when we needed specific kinds of help. Because of the amazing people at SunServe, we have had the ability to create change in our community here in Broward County. We have done skits in several different areas for many different audiences. Usually these skits allow adults who have no knowledge of GLBTQ issues the chance to ask questions and genuinly learn. That in and of itself is a huge impact and the repercussions of these skits usually transfer in ways that we have no way of knowing about.
