The Problem

Arts Education in my area are constantly being cut. Many kids are losing the opportunity to participate in the arts. I want every student to have the opportunity to act and be a theatre program. Although I cannot tackle every aspect of the arts, the non-profit organization I work with is constantly working towards this. Every student should have the arts in their lives, both for the development of their creativity and the positive academic results of education with the arts.

Plan of Action

I started a low cost acting class this past summer at the non-profit I work with. I had about ten students come and paticipate over three weeks. In the fall, I will be continuing the acting program to be over the school year twice a week since most of the public schools do not have a drama program. I will provide this program at low cost again but also provide other opportunities such as recording at my college's TV studio. I will teach most of it by myself but call for volunteers on campus to help. Most of the volunteers will act as role models to the kids as they grow as individuals.
