Late last Summer I contacted MADD in Minnesota because I was interested in what information they had to give to health classes and schools that contact them. They have no c/d about the impact of teen age drinking. They had a couple of video's that are very old and outdated and long (Over an hour). I have been slowly working on a 10 to 15 minute video for them to show the impact of drinking and driving. This video will be used in health classes as a lead in for discussion. Teenagers will be able to relate to it because it was made by a teenager. I interviewed the MN president of MADD. I went to a couple of impact panels and subsequently interviewed six people who have had loved ones killed by drunk drivers. I am in contact with a young woman who drove while intoxicated and killed someone. I will be interviewing her. After I have done all my filming, I will be editing my video. This will not be copywrited, anyone can use it. MN MADD will be sending it out to schools and will send copies to the National MADD office. I wanted to use my interest in film making to help others. My parents had to buy a new computer to store all the film cuts. I also needed to update my software and buy a new microphone. The five-hundred dollars will help with these costs. I will also be using the money to buy c/d's and cases to send out to schools. I would really appreciate you considering to help me in this endeavor. If this video could help even one person make the right choice it would be worth it.
