The Thompson st Youth Coalition is a newly planned coalition that plans fun & educational events, trips and programs for children of all ages on Thompson St and surrounding areas. We Are Kicking off our Summer Exploration Program, The programs run from July 6th to August 10th, Tuesday-Friday. The Program idea in June 2006 by two youths from the Thompson st area. The program was started because of the increasing violence in the Newhallville section which played a great part in the life of Thompson st and surrounding areas youth. With that being said, Javaughn Harris & Caprice Taylor started a Youth Led program in which the youth could be keep from violence by having fun and educational things to do such as going to the British Art museum , Maritime Aquarium and Helping in the community by participating in the youth walk on the New Haven Green. The Program will be kicking off it first initiative in which we will have an end of school Activity Day for the youth on Thompson st and surrounding areas. Our Motto Is we want us the youth to have opportunities and not become another statistics
