Threads That Teach
the problem:
Threads That Teach is a fashion apparel line designed by young art students in order to aid arts education programs within inner-city public schools. With a little guidance, young students will use their own creativity to design t-shirts that will be printed and sold at various school and/or arts events in their communities. The money raised from t-shirt sales funds arts programs in their respective academic institutions.

0people involved:
0why it's important:
This process will help youth learn entrepreneurial skills and how the power of creative expression can bring endless possibilities regardless of age, race, gender, and socioeconomic status. Using their passion for the arts, students will feel empowered to know that they have the ability to change the future of their education – as well as the education of others.
the plan of action:
Beyond creativity, Threads That Teach helps students to strengthen their skills in organization, teamwork, and money management. The Threads That Teach staff members act merely as advisors to the students and as a production team within the business, providing advice on designs and other means that will help turn a product idea into a reality. The students are the creative minds behind each t-shirt design and the retailers behind each sales transaction. In return for their hard work, they are rewarded with a better education and insight into an area of their interest: the arts.
