The Problem

We are a group of high school juniors providing social activities for teen and adult Down syndrome self advocates. We are tryng to raise awareness about the stereotype surrounding the 'look' of persons with Down Syndrome by showing the similarities all teens and young adults share.

Plan of Action

My group, "Throw Down," holds quarterly social events fot the self advocates from "Get Down," an organization within Mile High Down Syndrome Association. We also support their other fundraising activities and will work with the Global Down Syndrome Association this fall on their gala. Our impact is evidenced on the faces of the attendees as well as the members of Throw Down, as we dance, laugh, and participate together. We are also growing in participants.
