We are planning a raffle through our access (kind of like mandatory study hall) periods that would involve a quiz for each class that raises enough money, and prizes like gift cards, pizza parties, and stuffed tigers. The ones who raise enough money would take the quiz and if they did well enough, be eligible to receive a prize (the amount of entries into the raffle would depend on how much money they raised using a tiered ranking system).
There would also be a petition at lunch, that we would send to our congressmen detailing our concerns over "domesticated" big cat treatment as well as the Keystone XL pipeline, and we would cover a wall with DOTs (It stands for Do One Thing... kind of like Do Something!) so that everyone could get involved. We will also be collecting old shoes, ink cartridges, and used up batteries. Everything students turned in, be it a DOT, petition signature, pair of shoes, ink cartridge, or battery, would be redeemed for tickets in a separate raffle (with smaller but similar prizes), for which we would also sell tickets.
All the money collected (including what we get from recyclables turned in at local centers) would be donated to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge and the World Wildlife Foundation. Also, all of this would occur during Earth Week (except we moved it back a week because 2 of the days in the real Earth Week are testing days for us).
