T.O.U.C.H. Mentoring Program
the problem:
Our organization works on helping ex-offenders reenter society after their release. This population is forgotten and stereotyped and believed to be unimportant. Everyone deserves a second chance once they aew released, not a second sentence.
We help with rebuilding relationships, fixing criminal thinking errors, employment services, computer skills, and giving back to the community.

10why it's important:
Our organization uses group Talk Session Therapy, one-on-one mentoring, and workshops to help our clients. We help break the stereotypes for ex-offenders by promoting community service attitudes in our participants. People who have committed crimes are just that, people. There is no need to judge them for their mistakes or to label them for their mistakes.
the plan of action:
So far since I began volunteering I have began a Computer Literacy Workshop, a Clothing Bank, and a Women's Reentry Program. Our next step is to put a juvenile program in place so we can reach all age groups of offenders.
how you can get involved:
Others can help by merely supporting us and spreading the word. We are a new organization and need all the help we can get. Another way others can help is to break down the stereotypes forced upon ex-offenders. Believe in them, that's a start.
