Tsunmai Relief

the problem:

My friend in Samoa, Mikaele Maiva was really devastated by the Tsunami's in the Fall of 2009. He lost a family and his family lost their house. Even though he lost everything he took all his time to rescue.

why it's important:

He is a friend and it important to me that if I have it in my power to help...I will. They need it more than me, and every little bit helps no matter how insignificant you think it is. I want to help, not for the glory, or the money that comes out of it, I want to help becuase its human to care... and love... an help.

the plan of action:

I hosted a Spaghetti feed at a church in my town. The menu included spaghetti, salad, fry bread and baked goods. For every plate that a person bought they could put their name in a drawing for door-prizes. We raised 876.00. His gratitude was beyond words and he gave all the money to his parents to help start to build their new house.
