Turkey Bowl-recycled turkey project

the problem:

Every year we hold an annual Turkey Bowl day at our school. It is like a battle of the classes. For one of our events this year we had a turkey making contest. Contestants had to use a variety of recycled items to construct the best looking turkey.

vital stats:

people impacted:

500

people involved:

20

why it's important:

The students have become more aware of recycling due to our paper recycling program. This event at Turkey Bowl was seen by the entire student body and it was a great way to reinforce the idea of reducing, reusing, and recycling!

the plan of action:

We gathered materials from throughout the school the week before the event. We used newspapers, milk cartons, water jugs, used construction paper, and old cardboard boxes.

how you can get involved:

Continue reducing, reusing, and recycling!!!
