Unite for SIght at Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech’s chapter was founded during the 2008-2009 school year. Both children and adults are screened and it is the goal of the organization to hold at least one vision screenings each week. Because medical insurance is unattainable for many people in Blacksburg and throughout the area, Unite For Sight assists and encourages the medically underserved to apply for free health coverage programs so they can receive an examination by a physician. Unite For Sight also holds an Eyeglass Drive to collect used eyeglasses and sunglasses to donate to eye clinics in developing countries. There are many ways to become involved with our organization. Membership is open to all people who wish to help prevent blindness. Donations of various kinds are accepted (not just monetary).
