The Problem

We are trying to show how important it is to recycle within the football stadium at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Normally UNL doesn't recycle within the stadium so we registered UNL to participate in an event called Gameday Challenge hosted by the EPA. Through this event, UNL is able to recycle within the stadium at one home game. The amount we recycle is then ranked against other participating colleges nationwide. We then strive to win the title as the University who recycles the most waste during a football game.

Plan of Action

Our plan of action is to select one home game in October of 2011. We will print out fliers to advertise the need for volunteers. We are also co-partnering with the recycling company at the University who is also trying to make a change with the Universities recycling program. We will designate a time and place to meet after the football game and then start picking up recyclables in the stadium section by section. Last year we started out with 40 people which dwindled to 25 volunteers but we still were able to cover most of the stadium. However it would be great to have a larger team of volunteers because we would be able to finish the job at a faster ace.
