HLHW just started our newest Pilot at the Mission Hill after school program. We are basically about a month into the program! At Mission Hill, HLHW volunteers work with 3rd and 4th graders, using the XO computers, to help them get excited about homework and educational activities!
For Halloween we did a writing exercise where the students had a handout of "spooky" Halloween-themed words where they had to write a scary story incorporating as many of those words as possible. The students received M&Ms for every word they were able to use!!
Also, we would just like to thank Do Something for the After School Grant!! We are all very excited and looking forward to posting more updates :-)
