The Problem

Being hospitalized for children is a life of a lot of fear and even pain. There is not a lot of joy. The possiblity of healing is improved when the children can smile or even laugh. For children who are disadvantaged and/or homeless, life is filled mostly with daily struggle for survival. Many of these children never receive the Valentines treats that so many of their better off peers get.

Plan of Action

1) Hold a card making event during a club meeting. 2) Ask several after -school programs and a class to also participate in making cards for hospitalized and disadvantaged/homeless children. 3) Collect the cards and provide them to the Child Life department at two childrens hospitals and one local school for homeless and disadvantaged children.
