The Problem

Music has the unique ability to change lives and improve circumstances. Many of the elementary schools in the Nashville community do not have established music programs. In order to give the students an opportunity to grow and prosper through a love of the arts, Vanderbilt Music Outreach sends volunteers into the community to share their passion for music.

Plan of Action

Each semester, Vanderbilt Music Outreach sends six teams of 3-5 volunteers to local Nashville elementary schools. Through four one-hour sessions, Vanderbilt students teach lessons with subjects ranging from melody and harmony to world music.
