Virtues Classes

I have been, close to 2 years in east palo alto, CA, been hosting virtues classes for young teens. I started it with a friend of mine, that lives in the very low income housing called The Woodland Apartments, to try and let kids know that gangs and drinking does not have to be their decision to find happiness. Over the years their reading and vocabulary have improved dramatically. It was really impressive to hear what they have to say and the ideas they can accomplish. We have done a few community clean up efforts, one of or recent accomplishments was when we painted over all of the graffiti at the apartments. It helped make them feel like they can have a positive measurable impact in their community . Hopefully the students will retain and spread those virtues we learned together and make a difference wherever they go next.
