In practice, we have set our focus on the environment and water. Nicaragua has immense freshwater reserves. Lake Nicaragua, also called El Lago Cocibolca or Gran Lago, where among others Granada is set at the banks, is the largest freshwater lake in Central America. However, this lake suffers greatly under the progressive pollution. Since many people in Nicaragua are busy every day ensuring their survival for the next day, the issue of environmental protection often plays a very small role. Especially the lack of opportunities for waste disposal causes that waste is incinerated either on the road or thrown into water channels. Environmental awareness is missing!
