The Problem

Convalescent homes and disaster victims often do not have live entertainment because of low funding. They only have enough money to provide television and local radio. Our volunteers provide not only therapeutic music from the past, but music played by young artists, eager to please.

Plan of Action

In the future, I hope to become a physician helping those with medical needs and continue my foundation. Will I use music therapy as a physician? Consider the famous Beth Israel Hospital that has a department of music therapy named after and funded by the Louis Armstrong Foundation. The answer is “yes.” I can only imagine the delight shown on the patient’s faces in a hospital filled with sounds of Louis Armstrong’s soothing trumpet. My foundation and I hope to bring that delight to the people of Haiti this summer. I plan to grow my foundation as my career as a medical profession continue.
