The Problem
I volunteered in both education and wildlife conservation. I volunteered at the R.E.A.D. program where I taught children phonics and how to read. I was able to help children overcome their problems regarding low self-esteem. I was also able to help increase their learning abilities. I also volunteered as a docent at the New York Aquarium in Brooklyn, New York. There, I educated people on wildlife conservation and specialized in penguins. During my time at the aquarium, I was able to help educate children about the various animals in the aquarium and even participated in a shark feeding. By volunteering at the Aquarium, I was able to help over come the problem of people being unaware about animal conservation. I was able to inform people about the risks of disregarding wildlife.
Plan of Action
My plan of action was completely hands-on. I physically helped children to learn phonics by reading many books with them and creating educational mental exercises to strengthen their minds. At the aquarium, I physically spoke with people and groups about ways in which they could help wildlife conservation organizations.
