Volunteers in Mission: Costa Rica

My plan was to not only help the people in the village, but also learn from them. Coming from America, I have grown up around extravagance and wealth compared to the complete poverty most of the world lies in. I wanted to not only learn from them, but I wanted to show them that there are people looking to help them in the world. At first we were met with hostility because we were "greedy Americans" but soon they learned that not every American was greedy. It was amazing to see the turn around in these peoples opinions and to develop memories that well never leave my mind.
