The Problem

There are over 4 million pets euthanized every year due to the overcrowding of animal shelters. This is due to the high amount of people that release their pets to the streets or take them back to the shelter for simple reasons that can be handled. Also, the amount of people purchasing pets instead of adopting is ridiculously high. I am trying to raise awareness about pet adoptions and relieve some overcrowding of animal shelters while raising funds for a shelter in need of financial aide.

Plan of Action

I plan to host an annual dog walkathon in Miami Lakes in order to raise awareness about shelter pets and promote pet adoption over purchase. I plan on hosting an adoption event during the walkathon to give a loving home to as many deserving animals as possible.
