We have made huge strides with our organization and our "Music Saved My Heart" project. We just recently got a contact sent over from the Avalon in Hollywood to arrange our concert be held there. We received a $9,000 discount courtesy of the Avalon and now have our goal of $8,920 that we need to raise in order to have the show.

the problem:
Over 150 million children in the world (age 5-14) are deprived of education due to poverty, slavery, sexual discrimination, racial discrimination, racism and religious intolerance. The cost of educating each child in the developing world is about $1 per month per child. Several global studies show that educating a girl to at least a fifth grade education level, is the most significant factor in impoverished societies such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Inspired by the self-less and honorable efforts made by Greg Mortenson, the War Ate My Heart Organization was founded. The organization will raise money to provide assistance for the development of schools in third-world middle eastern countries. We believe that the right way to combat terrorism is not by military tactics, but through education! We plan to organize a Benefit Concert in order to raise funds to help with building schools for the benefit of the underprivileged children.
the plan of action:
First we have built a team and divided the work into different sections such as catering, entertainment, etc. Also we have gotten into contact with artists such as Lady Gaga, Alexz Johnson, Adrienne Pierce and they have shown interest in performing at the event. In addition we have narrowed down the possible locations for the concert. We are looking at Sony Studios, Wakkano, and the Kodak Theatre. We still need to do some fundraising in order to help pay for the expenses. We plan on applying for some sponsorship and also selling snacks.
how you can get involved:
Others can help by helping with the production of the event. We need a huge team to make this all possible. Others can also help by offering donations or sharing information of possible sponsors. They can also help by giving us contacts for any sort of beneficial help. Others can also help by spreading the word of the concert in order to have a good turn out.

wow!! this project sounds awesome- i totally agree that education is key in solving conflicts such as war and poverty in the world... i noticed that the project end date was 6/10-- did you have your concert?? and what are your ideas for the future of the organization? please update your page so we can hear whats going on!!
Actually no the end date is 6/10/2010 that was a mistake. We're glad that you agree with what we are trying to accomplish. Right now the organization is diligently working on the concert and also working hard on producing a successful benefit fashion show.
