We Care - Feeding the Homeless

The Problem

Our organization goes and feed the hungry at downtown Atlanta on a monthly basis as we are able to do. We tend to reach out to those who are sleeping in parks and under bridges, giving them sandwiches and hot meals, and letting them know that God still loves them. We get several volunteers each time to go with us to help us distribute the food. Around the holidays we make care packages for them which consist of the following: washcloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, mouthwash, deodorant, lotion, aspirins, maxipads (for women), etc. We also have several organizations such as cleaners that will give us clothing that no one has picked up so we are able to distribute clothes to them as well.

Plan of Action

If we can get more people involved in volunteering and helping us, we ca get the word out what we are doing and get more community involvement to where we can make this a "City Effort" to where these people will at least eat a meal once a day.
