Wellness Elementary School

I am currently working to write the charter school application and recruit a founding governing board. These will be complete by Feb 1, and then I will embark on community engagement and student recruitment throughout next Spring. The application will be submitted to the charter school authorizer in either late Spring or early Fall depending on the exact location we select. From there, with approval and grant funding the board and I will hire the planning staff and we will hire teachers, develop curriculum, secure a facility, acquire grant funding, and lay the groundwork for the school to open in the Fall of 2013. We will measure our success by the achievement and growth of our students on academic, character, and health/wellness standards -- we will use both standardized and portfolio assessments to best understand and promote our students' growth.
