Women On A Mission (WOAM)
the problem:
Every day I look around and see people throwing their lives away, particularly women, we often feel as though because we didn’t do it then, than its too late to do it n. For example I had a baby in high school , stopped playing sports and dropped out of school for a short period of time. I began to feel as though it was too late and I had screwed up my life but it wasn’t and I proved my self wrong by finishing high school and enrolling in college. A lot of times we also feel as though we have o deal with poverty and circumstances and there’s nothing we can do about it. I want to let women know that they can pull away from poverty and violent relationships, I want to teach women and young girls how to dress appropriately, how to carry them selves, how to apply for a job and how to break away from that unhealthy relationship that results in black eyes every other day. Most importantly I want Woman on a mission to be a learning experience for me, I want to walk away a better woman.

4why it's important:
This group is important to m because I have been down and out before and I know what it feels like to feel as though no one cares for you and you have no where to start. I was raised with out a father, I had death in my family, my immediate family for 6 consecutive years. I was a run away teenager, and I was a teenage mom. No one other than financial aid has ever helped me with school, I want to share my experiences, like the one where I did horrible in college, dropped out and came back after 4 years repaid the college what I owed them and re-enrolled. I want to teach women how to balance school, work and kids and balance it well!
the plan of action:
I plan to ask women who I know personally to speak at my meetings that will be held, such as my first cousin who went from being a teenage mom living in government housing with six kids to living in the suburbs and is now a registered Nurse actually she is the director of nursing and she did it all while working and raising her kids, i will ask women like my professor who is a pastor, has her own business and holds several degrees. I will also ask my nurse practitioner who I have known since he age of 16, my goal is to show the women of my group and men if any, that its never to late and no matter what race or age, they CAN do it.
how you can get involved:
others can help by donating, clothes, food personal hygiene books, furniture, basically anything that they no longer need, i can put it to use for someone else.
