Women Youth Supporting Eachother

Check out our videos!

the problem:

WYSE (Women Youth Supporting Eachother) is a curriculum based mentoring program at USC that strives to give young girls the information and resources they need to make educated decisions about their sexual future in an interactive way. We are trying to solve teen pregnancy, violent behavior, alcohol/drug abuse, and STD's.

vital stats:

people impacted:

300

people involved:

60

why it's important:

I've grown up hearing stories of young girls my age having to drop out of high school because they got pregnant, or overdosed on drugs. The statistics in the past five years of teen pregnancy has increased significantly. So I am extremely motivated to decrease that rate, or at least help educate young girls to make smarter sexual decisions. I also want to teach girls about the consequences of drug/alcohol abuse, so they hopefully will shy away for it.

the plan of action:

With the WYSE organization, we mentor and educate 8th grade girls once a week about violence, sexual decision making, and drug/alcohol abuse.

how you can get involved:

Join the organization if it is affiliated with your college, or donate money so we can increase our funds to spend towards education equipment.
