The Problem

Women's Empowerment International Foundation (WEIF) is a non-profit centered in Edmonton, AB working in Pakistan and India to eradicate poverty. We do this by asking the community themselves what they need and getting them directly involved with making those dreams a reality. Specifically, we build schools with computer labs and libraries, teach women essential business skills, and are now in the process of providing rural towns with water and electricity. By doing this we will be able to empower those in these communities to become a true individual making a difference in their society.

Plan of Action

I have been including my friends, family, and community in the many fundraisers that we have throughout the year. We want to get people's interest by having a wide variety of fundraisers. We have hosted walks, fashion shows, dinners, dances, and concerts. We are also working on promoting our non-profit through social networking and presenting to schools. WEIF's fundraisers are a lot of fun for a variety of people. The more people who get involved, the more variety of ideas we will get for helping those in developing countries.
