The Problem

The lack of ability to receive health care in the rural areas of South carolina, to begin with. I am attempting to provide, through volunteer efforts, health care to those who are not able to afford it.

Why It's Important

There is an undeniable health care crisis, especially, throughout socioeconomic levels. It is important that these people are able to receive some type of health care even though they may not be able to afford it or lack the transportation to receive care. I feel that people's health should not suffer if they are hard working people that cannot afford it.

The Plan Of Action

This community program will start in the most rural and needy population of South Carolina, York and Chester Counties. We have commissioned medical professionals in York, Chester, and Charleston Counties to help provide health care. We are also contacting pharmaceutical companies to see if they can donate some health education brochures, portable machines to assist the program, and healthy living guidelines. Ultimately, we want to be mobilized so that we can travel to all the counties in South Carolina to help in the deficiency in health provisions. We may be able to take the concept into different states with help.

How Can Others Get Involved?

Others can donate time or money to the program to help us become successful. However, if you see this same need in your community or state and want to initiate your own health fair be encouraged to do so and the founders of the Yellow Jessamine Health Fair will be willing to help organize.
