The Problem

YPIC-SD works to connect and engage local individuals and organizations with opportunities to benefit the international community and contribute to UN related goals. The three pillars of concern are environment, health, and human rights which are realized through:Raising Awareness, Fund raising, Networking, Motivating, Educating. The target group for YPIC is recent graduates who need real life experience to get them ready for the career life. They gain skills, meet leaders in the community, and build relationships with them. Once they leave our group, they are ready to be leaders in the community themselves.

Plan of Action

My plan of action as the Co-Chair for the YPIC committee and member of the board of directors for the United Nations Association, San Diego is to make this platform where young people with education can match that with real life skills to be a positive force in the community for helping refugees, raising awareness of human trafficking, encouraging environmental sustainability, and so on.
