Young Travelers of America Non-profit Organization
the problem:
Dear Scholarship Award judges, I need this scholarship because it is vital to my graduation with my Bachelor degree in International Business. Also, my main goal is to help the poor children of America grow up being better aware of there surroundings. In order to do so I want to start a non profit organization call The Young Travelers of America (Y.T.A.). The first program is for the girls it’s called Broaden Your Horizons (B. Y. H.). The second program will be for young under privilege boys called Men of the World (M.O.W.). B.Y.H. brings better life and a better understanding of our life meaning to mind. Being a black, young, woman in America has not been nice. I have so many trials and tribulations in my growing optimistically and intellectually. Thank GOD, my mom always insisted I get a college education because honestly I don’t know where I would be today. My heart goes out to all the other under privilege, teenage girls across America, because the pressure is on woman to be sexy, slim, clean, smart, hardworking, and to produce the children of the future. Therefore, my desire is to help the woman of America perspective on life to become what we are destine to be which is sexy, healthy, hardworking, intelligent, and good mothers. The Y.T.A. mission statement is to broaden the horizons of teenage, under privilege girls of America through traveling and education of worldly communities. In order to open their eyes to the opportunities in America and show them how positive and important their lives really are. This enlightenment will encourage them to broaden the horizons of their futures. After our company receives an application the participant now has to be qualified to enter the program. They will pay a sign up fee to signify dedication to the program. The first three destinations we plan to travel to and learn from are Jamaica, Spain, and China. Phase I: Getting ready for the trip. Parents are responsible for the child to have a passport and shots by date of travel but we do verify two to three months a head of travel date. Phase II: Planning the trip. We would have alliances with American Airlines, a travel agency, and clinics for mandatory vaccinations, and the Hilton hotel. We chose American Airlines because it is the largest airline in the world, which goes to over 40 countries (American Airlines, 2007). Each trip will be one week long and we strive for safety by having one chaperon per two children. Phase III: Implementing the plan. So, safety is maintained each chaperon holding a hand with both children is mandatory. Chaperons consist of a Registered Nurse, a Transportation Security officer, and a travel guide born and raised in that country of travel and me of course. Parents are welcome as long as they fund their way to and from the country. Phase IV: Evaluate the results and make changes. Consequentially, the amount of teenagers we take will be based on the amount of chaperons.
Process Management: The itinerary is always as follows exercise in the morning at 8am, breakfast at 10am, and culture learning and site seeing at 12 noon sharp. We will visit the schools, churches, well known places, restaurants and shopping centers with a safe B. Y. H. translator. Each day of the week will have a different focus of education provided by our travel guide and agency. This is why I need this scholarship. In order to change the American children and the United States economy future by building young travelers of America.
