why it's important:

We would like to prevent teenagers from making poor choices by providing them with a place to discuss issues related to health and sexuality with experts in the field. We have seen girls from our school make poor choices and have to deal wiht the consequences because they might be too embrassed to talk to their parents.Us 4 Youth Dremaers are the right people to solve this problem because we are close in age and can relate to their problems.

the plan of action:

The vision of our project/organization is to positively influence women. We plan to achieve our vision by having this program. We will allow experts to come in and discuss certain topics. Topics include sex, dating violence,drugs,HIV/AIDS,etiquette,teen pregancy, relationships and etc.We will also use journals to see how the girls feel about the topics and to notice any growth in personality. We plan to read "Who am I without Him",written by Sharon G. Flake. The book talks about girls and the boys in their lives. It consists if short stories, one story relates to a girl going through a mentally violent relationship. One of our experts,Nicole Lynn, has a published book on her life growing up.Ms.Nicole was in a domestic violent relationship, both physically and mentally.Hannah Brancato launched a successfull onsite art program at the House of Ruth Maryland. It provided 135 women and children with activites designed to be recreational, stress reducing and a less threatening way to explore issues created by domestic violent realtionships.

Our plan of action is to write grants to seek funding, set up a schedule for workshops, email our experts and plan information meetings. We also have to plan lessons around the book, and make flyers to publicize our fashion show/health expo.My role in the project is leader.I organize the meetings, take in everyones opinion, and will make sure the program is a success.
