The Problem

I am currently a volunteer Youth Leader at my church. I am mentoring a group of about three--four guys, helping plan the summer events and trips, and have weekly meetings and discussions with my Youth Pastor. It is awesome to be able to be friends with, and one of influence in teenagers lives. I enjoy being around the youth group kids, and don't really think of this as a "project", but more of my calling and gift. I do it because I love it and because I love the teenagers in the youth group. I am hoping to help build up strong Christian leaders, develop healthy worlviews and habits, and draw more to our youth group and ultimately to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Plan of Action

As I said above..this isn't a "project" or a "job". I am working with the teens in my youth group because I love them and want to see them grow spiritually and personally. I think that so far I have made an impact on the Leader-Youth relationship status by invovling teens in activities other than just Sunday Night Youth Group. Also by showing up at their athletic events, or even calling them up to have coffee or lunch with them. I think and hope that I have bridged broken relationships within the youth group by being real and true with the kids. I am currently planning a one week conference that our youth group will host that will be a opening for new relationships, deeper relationships, spiritual growth and causing the youth group to be a mile deep--if only an inch wide, verses a mile wide and only an inch deep.
