The Problem
The mission of YLP is to inform and educate the American people on issues of major significance that occur in Palestine, which are usually unreported, underreported, or misreported in the American media. YLP will hold monthly meetings at a designated location and will work together to put Palestine back on the map. Through volunteer work and other community events, the YLP and our cause will become relevant to the American public. Together, we will open the eyes of the American people. Together, we can make a difference.
Plan of Action
Together, we volunteer every month at a community event. For example, in October, we participated in the UNC Walk for Palestine and volunteered at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Walk. In December, we will take part in a community-organized Culture Night, and will volunteer with the Meals on Wheels organization. By taking part in the local community, we will inform the American public on issues that are taking place in Palestine on a daily basis. We plan to organize a peaceful walk/demonstration of youth advocating for peace and solidarity in Palestine in the spring, through the help of a Do Something grant. All this will inform the public about the restrictions of human rights taking place in Palestine on a daily basis.
