As the new Youth President at my church I have been trying to implement various activities and ideas to increase outreach in the community. For instance, in the summer of 2011, we had our first ever youth rally. It was something very different for our church and many people tried to fight against it but we pulled it odd. It was geared toward the youth especially in our community. We had games, food, music and our assistant pastor even gave some words of encouragement. It turned out to be a great event. Now this year, I would like to do a Back to School bash for the community because many people cannot afford to buy all their children school supplies, especially if they have more than one child. Things can become quite expensive. This year I would like to donate some supplies to our communities children as well as those at my church; continue our rally's for the youth and the community while donating of school supplies to those who need them along with food, games, and other activities. I want the community to know that even though we are a small church we have a vision, huge dreams and we love to help others, young and old. Also, I plan to invite as many people as we can to have a great time with us and get to know one another on a personal level.
