The next generation of teenagers are vulnerable to substance abuse if they are not equipped with the knowledge on what they're dealing with. Kids in middle school and elementary school can learn through our club all they need to know on the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

We heard on the radio that most low income children do not have any books of their own. We researched this and found that low income children have zero to two books compared to two hundred books for kids that are better off. We know how great it is to have books available to read and enjoy so we decided to start a program to read to children and let them choose their own book.

DSAC was started to help raise awareness of down syndrome and other disabilities in our local communities. Our goal is to help end discrimination and awkwardness between regular teens and teens who have disabilities. In other words, we want to unite all teens and show how similar we all are! Our club provides after school activites that help bond disabled teens with High School teens.

I would like to provide information and resources to high school drop-outs. It does not matter if the drop out is young or old. This project will promote not dropping out of school. However it will provide resources, information, and resume assistance to students who have already dropped out of high school.

The problem I am trying to solve is the lack of awareness of poverty in our community. People aren't doing anything to help those unfortunate and they even discriminate not knowing an individual's condition.

We are trying to reduce the number of people turning their animals in to shelters because they can't afford to feed them and help feed the hungry pets of needy families in Southeast Michigan.
