The majority of youth in my community feel they cannot afford college, therefore they finish high school and hit the streets; which leads to prisons, pregnancies, and unemployement lines. Youth in my community limit themselves, and won't allow themselves the audacity to have a dream and reach for it.

There is almost no Green space in our community. There are almost no healthy food stores. Mostly candy stores that sell chips and candy Diabetes and obesity is the highest in the community we live. The air where we live is also the most polluted in NYC. We found an answer to these problems. We were able to do real farming this summer in a community garden. We want to tell everyone about what we did and tell the politicians that we need more Green spaces and not more cement basketball courts.

Children gaining insight on how to develop positive habits for handling money of their own in light of the economic down turn our nation has taken...every family at all socio-economical levels have been affected by the financial down-turn and our children, the next generation need as much assistance in personal preparedness in FINANCES...

I love art and in my coummunity there is not alot of places for kids and adults to do it. So i wount to provide a safe and fun place for them to do it.

We are trying to educate the upper Middle school and High school students about safety and actually get "real" with them about it.

Many domestic violence victims often seek refuge from their abusers, but are afraid to let go of their pet so they remain in a harmful situation.A local domestic violence shelter has become the first agency in California to offer shelter to pets.
