My goal is to have a place where young people who have no hope, no place to go, the freaks that no one wants, to give them a place to call home. To help them heal from life's hurts and pain, to teach them that it's ok to live life Until I Die. I want to give our generation another chance to make it right. I don't want to just give them a slap on the wrist and medication, but to get down to the root of the problem and fix it.

Food for Thought
All over the world people are in need, people are suffering, and people are calling out for help. Since John F. Kennedy became the founder of the Peace Corps, the United States Government has become an active force in foreign aid. Foreign aid is the government-backed program that lends money, food, and medical supplies to third world countries in an attempt to revamp their economy.
This project will help the youth of New Mexico.

Project HERO was developed to strengthen ties within the community and give students the opportunity to see the difference they can make in other people’s lives while having fun. While Kansas Wesleyan faculty and staff have supported the project, the effort was initiated by students and continues to be student led.
Project HERO day consists of a huge meeting lobby where all the site leaders make contact with their volunteers and hand out everyone their project HERO t-shirts.

A group of students and I have created a speech and debate program at King High School. Most members of the organization are honors students in the International Baccalaureate program. Through student run workshops and team practices, students learn to research a case, write a speech, or prepare an interpretation of literature performance . Many students come to our team as shy freshmen looking for a community, and they soon grow intellectually, learning to express themselves and build confidence.

Most of the existing work on technology support for information retrieval has focused on individual behavior. This helps us understand information gathering by groups up to a point, but group work is generally more complex than the sum of the behavior of the individuals involved. Specific needs arise in group interaction. Information that is acquired is shaped and communicated within the organization and these factors can all affect subsequent information seeking.
Students Everywhere Assisting Students is a nonprofit organization established by fifteen teens who traveled to the Gulf Coast in July of 2006 in the wake of its most devastating and merciless disaster. Their one month stay, filled with a combination of satisfaction, stress, anger, fascination and hope, changed their lives more than they could have ever predicted. Together they realized that although their summer journey may have ended, a new one was begging to unfold.

Being heathly is something that means more to me than anyone could ever imagine. Thats why I'm majoring in Dietetics, and doing this project. A few close friends and I found thousands of healthy and tasty recipes and gave them out to hundreds of people, hoping they would change their lifestyle. When I recieved positive feedback I became too excited. You would never know how good you could feel from making someone else happy. It is truly a gift all in its own.

June Bug promotes something I have termed Holistic Sociology. It is Holistic/ transformational education for urban youth. Our programs combine holistic, ecological & sustainable living, with cultural arts. We aim to promote community and health through each person's individual healing journey. Our premise is that as a person becomes more whole, with a larger and larger view of themselves, their view of themselves within their communities will change. We hope to recruit, educate and inspire our next generation of artists, activists, leaders, and healers.
