Multicultural Organization

The club was established in order to promote diversity in cultural awareness in a high school and spread to the community itself. The club was founded two years ago, by myself with the help of fellow students and teachers interested in my idea. As I was not from this area, I underwent an immediate cultural shock, as well as the high school seemed to be distictly segregated according to certain groups and ethnicities.

Invisible Children

I have created an extension of a work in progress. Invisible Children is an organization helping children, as well as their families, be rescued from the rebel army working against the government. This rebel army abducts kids from their homes and forces them to fight. Uganda has been suffering from this on going war that has lasted for over 20 years. The suffering has left many displaced with no where to call home. No food, water, shelter, or peace. I have started an annual dodgeball tournament to raise money to help these kids find shelter, healthcare, food, and education.

Environment Recyables for Homeless/Food Center

This semester at college I took Botany and had to do an exam project on how much recyable garbage comes from the school. A homeless/food center close to school uses recable items to get money for food, and other materials. Our project was made to see if we could help them in this cause and we were proven right, 70-90% of our garbage at school is recyable. Since we no have the proff that there is a huge recable problem we can try to set up recyable containers around the campus and give this recable goods to the center so they can get more money to support the center.

Support Our Troops Day

My volunteer community service activity was a recognition day for the soldiers fighting all over the world for the United States. This day was called “Support Our Troops Day” and it recognized all the troops fighting for us. It was created to show the troops fighting around the world, that everyone still at home really does care and appreciate everything they do.I became involved in this activity when I saw a news report about a few soldiers who were killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq.
