Mekele School for the Blind in Ethiopia is a school that really needs help. The children that go to Mekele are in dire need for a better environment. The school itself is not in the best condition, and barely has enough money to support it's food and basic necessities. Over the past summer, a security wall was built to keep away sexual predators from entering the school. I really want to help this school and its children by giving them a chance, an opportunity for them to have a better and brighter future.

P.S. 124 is a public elementary school in South Ozone Park, New York. I found out that the music program at P.S. 124 was suffering from lack of funding. I took it upon myself to help figure out a way to help out the school by providing the music department with musical instruments. This would ensure that no child would be turned down a musical education due to economic issues.

Children are our future. The choices they make now, forge their paths to their futures. However, not every child is given an equal opportunity, especially not to those who have the "bad" labels. Labels like: "trouble-maker," "problem-child," "unskilled," "stupid," "uncooperative," and "lazy." The problem with creating labels for "unrully" children--it causes discrimination from peers (which further leads to bullying), discrimination by other teachers and staff, and causes the child to loathe school and learning.
