About us
The goal of this project is to furnish 68 dorm rooms in the newly built Thurmond Woodard Residence Hall for young men (donated by the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation) at CIDA Park in Johannesburg, South Africa. CIDA offers the first free college education in South Africa. CIDA’s vision is to transform Africa by producing graduates who are qualified professionals, entrepreneurial creators of new businesses, and leaders in their communities.
Most of the incredible young men who will reside in this dormitory, come from impoverished families and many have never had the use of hot showers or indoor toilets at home. By furnishing these rooms, 195 students per year will be able to live on comfortably on campus and pursue their education and dreams and also inspire their younger brothers and sisters to follow in their footsteps.
