No! Do Something is all about young people taking action on causes they care about. You have what it takes to lead now. If your need help getting your school on board, e-mail saveourmusic@dosomething.org and we'll send you a letter for your principal or administration.
  • How do I get everyone involved?
Hold school wide assemblies. Organize a meeting and invite your friends and classmates, the school band, and local musicians to brainstorm projects. Air videos or make shout outs during morning announcements. You can use the downloadable fliers and posters available here or make your own to help spread the word.
  • Those are some sweet prizes. How do I win?
Do Something and a panel of expert judges will decide who did the most to advocate for music education.

    a) Involve your whole school and community
    b) Are creative!
    c) Are focused on creating REAL change (for example, if they're directed at influencing decision makers)

    e) Include photos and/or videos of your efforts
  • What if my school music program isn't suffering from budget cuts? Can I still get involved?
Absolutely! School music programs are being cut across the country. The more teens that speak out and advocate for music education, the more students nationwide will have access to a complete education.
Do Something and Save the Music will send your projects to national decision-makers to highlight the youth movement to Save Our Music.
