Discus Awards

Discus Awards
  • How Much? $2,000
  • How Many? One per month
  • Deadline: Accepting applications all year.

The Discus Awards is a national high school awards and scholarship program that recognizes well-rounded students who demonstrate significant achievements in three of ten “Discus attributes” representing various areas of interest and importance in a high school student’s life. A volunteer judging panel comprised of guidance counselors, teachers, and other education professionals reviews each application we receive online and determines “Discus Award winners” based on a rigorous standard of excellence. Once each month during the academic year, a Scholarship judging panel reviews Discus Award winners to date and selects one $2,000 Discus Scholarship winner. Our program awards $20,000 in scholarships to all-around high school students annually. High school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to receive Discus Award recognition and scholarships.

Required

You must be in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in high school or a comparable home school program to be eligible for a Discus Award.

Discus Awards scholarships recognize leaders on the dance team, drywall hangers supporting Habitat for Humanity, shift leaders at Starbucks, active youth group members, and social media gurus. Put simply, Discus Awards Scholarships recognize a new category of high school students: the all-around standout. Sound like you or a student you know?
