Do Something! with Seinfeld

DoSomething.org and Sony Pictures Television teamed up this fall to launch 'Do Something with Seinfeld', a national canned food drive in conjunction with the Seinfeld Campus Tour. Do Something members nationwide took action against hunger in their community by collecting food that was donated to food banks in the local communities around each campus.

Information about Hunger in the US

"Food banks are living on the edge of a catastrophe," according to Second Harvest, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization.
The requests for food assistance are up between 15% to 20% this year, and with the rising prices of food and fuel, food banks may not be able to provide sufficient assistance.
More than 80% of food banks in the Second Harvest network recently reported that they aren't able to meet the demand for food.
In 2005, 38 million Americans were considered "food insecure" – in other words, there were times during the year when they had trouble getting enough food - and the number has grown even more in 2008.
