Auctioning off a Pet Store Puppy to raise money for a school. Is it wrong?

Is it just me? Or is auctioning off a precious 10 week old puppy wrong? Holding up and passing around this sweet thing to a bunch of intoxicated people at a lavish fundraiser...cruel? Loud music...flashing lights....hopeing that some drunk person will think it sounds "swell" to get a new dog when they are drinking too much and showing off to their friends. When they might not really want the dog "the day after".
Let me know what you think...I think it sounds awful.
Yes its wrong. Puppies should not be sold to people who are to drunk to know what there doing and they shouldn't be in that kind of enviroment. They should be adopted by a nice family who wants them all the time and is aware of what there doing when getting the puppy.
Well not everybody who goes to fund raisers are drunk, but I agree that that would really freak a puppy out to be in that environment. I think that if they only showed photos and videos of the puppy it wouln't be wrong.

I believe that it is only wrong because of the situation, you know? If it had been in a school gym with no drinking and people had been acting civilized, then sure, why not? The mom who has the sweet five year old little girl sitting next to her buys the puppy. That is not wrong at all. But in that environment? I believe that that is pretty near animal abuse. <3
Adopting a puppy is a serious decision and requires a lot of responsibility. You should take some time to consider what you will be taking on. Choosing to adopt a dog at a charity auction just so people will think highly of you is seriously irresponsible.
ok i have never herd of people selling puppys to drunk kids. that is just stupid! plus in order for people to sell puppys to drunk people they would have to be drunk. but yeah adopting a puppy isnt just candy corn and sweet tarts. its serious buissness. a puppy dezerves a good home just as mush as a new born babby.
