I think that the environment that a student grows up in (such as who they hang around, family history, etc.) has to do with dropouts. Also, unencouragement at home or even school may lead to this.
Well I think that all of these aspects have some form of influence affecting the high dropout rate. However I believe that a strong moral household can be good enough in the success of a student no matter what negative influences are around he or she. The household is the core of a young persons life and the key prognosticator in success or failure. If the household becomes a negative influence, chances are the young man or women will struggle to envision themselves as successful. The increasing high school dropouts in recent years could be due to the fact of low encouragement in education at home.
I think depending on what kind of school you go to affects whether you drop out. The school I go to is one of the best schools in the state. Now, most people would expect it to be full-on academics, but we have a really relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Not only are we focussed on academics, but we're really into charities and stuff. It's this kind of atmosphere which I think really helps kids to enjoy school, making the learning environment so much more enjoyable, which in turn could possibly dissuade people from dropping out.
hell yeah it does.
i dont live in the best neighborhood...there is alot of violence, gunshots, fights..everyday.its something that certain people have to go through. in my high school there was alot of troubled teens and by graduation most of my class had dropped out. i mean there isnt alot of encouragement in this city. most people dont even expect you to live past the age of 18. but i believe that if someone really wants to succeed in life they will focus on their education.. but then again there is alot of pressure going around here..
there is nothing wrong with dropping out of school! if you do want to go to college, you don't have to go to high school and grade school, parents tell you that to trying to get you to go, but you don't have to!! it's not a law, and you do not need to attend high school to attend college. I never sat a test in my life, never been "educated", I am not homeschooled, I am unschooled! if you have any questions feel free to ask me, but I'm just here to say that school is one option out of hundreds!! dropping out is not bad, and those who do drop out,are not lazy, unmotivated, or uneducated!!
dropping out of school is not "a problem" it's an answer!

How come you post the exact same thing one every topic?
Because the topics are all the same, and I have the same thing to say and every one. why are there so many topics on people dropping out of school? you could look at it that way to. The world is filled with different points of view, and I think it's important for everyone to hear everyone elses. Because of my dyslexia,it seems pointless for me to write different messages for every discussion, when every discussion is exactly the same. It kind of makes sense, you know?
I think teens don't know what they want to do with themselves or their lives so they give up or rather lose hope when the answer isn't oblivious or isn't presented to them. They do want to do something productive with themselves and in society but there not finding the answer in school so they look else where like the street or something, not to necessarily say that school is the answer to a successful life. But I chose to not see drop outs as failures, there just taking a different approach than most others. While this may not be true for all drop outs for some it is and they may not be aware of this themselves.
Dropping out of high school is the most dangerous thing that one could do and the reason they do this is because they think is useless, hopeless and cant give anything. the government is even going to increase the rate of dropouts because he is going to cut the student metro cards and once there no more metro cards, students begin to drop outs because they don't have any money to get a metro card and their parents might even care less because she has to worry about getting metro cards for herself. ALL WE GOTTA DO IS FIGHT THIS RATE OF DROPOUTS COMING IN 2010.
I don't think it has to do with either really because when it comes down to it its your decision about what your going to do regarding your future. School just is not for some people for most it is but that's not the case for most people.
