Has online bullying gone too far?

In the days of Myspace and Facebook being used to torture and tease teens, has online bullying gone too far? I've seen multiple fake pages created to embarrass others and they go from being mean to just cruel and evil. What do you think?- Your Friendly DoSomething Intern!
people can be so mean! make sure that you AND none of your friends are engaging in online bullying. if you know someone who is being bullied online, let somebody know! the more that we expose this problem, the more that we can do about it.
personally, i'm not sure what motivates people to do these kinds of things in the first place. if you know somebody who is a cyber bully maybe ask them why they do it and why they think it's productive. sounds cheesy, but seriously. it's hard for me to imagine why somebody would do this. maybe they need help themselves.
i agree. It's wrong and hatful to bully others, in any case. Sometimes bulling has to do with life stories, adding in abuse and divorce which can have a harmful effect on a child's life. That's one of the causes of bulling. And the only one that i can think of :).
I think that sometimes people don;t even realize that they are bullies. Sometimes people are just sitting around, having fun with friends--and then do something mean. But they don't stop and think about how that will make another person feel. (And NOBODY likes to feel like crap--even those popular mean girls are afraid of older girls or certain teachers, etc...)
i think it has gone very far and i think we should find some way to stop it..i mean there has been teen sucide deaths because of cryber bullying..and i think its just horrible that someone would do that because of that..i think us teens should think of something to do to stop this..
Online bullying is very hateful and wrong. It has gone way to far!Myspace and Facebook really need to start paying more attention to online bulliers and fight againest it. Yeah, 1/4 the time teens don't think about something when they post it, but 75% of the time teens will get mad and online bullying can get really far, a case of a teenage girl who got bullied on myspace killed herself from someone making a profile of a guy and he really liked her, but it was fake and the supposebly "guy" was her neighbor just messing around curious. This is wrong and if anyone knows someone who has been bullied or knows someone who likes to bully online, get help. If there getting bullied online some teenagers don't know how to fight back and say no or just turn off there computers. Parents don't know when there teenagers are getting bullied, and I've seen teenagers very happy and bubbly, and then a bully online bullies them and there life changes dramastically. Online bullying is NOT worth it people and we all need to put a stop to it!
My ex threatened me on myspace when I broke up with him. My mom wanted to print out what he said and bring it to the cops but I said no because he was calling me a flaming fag and she'd find out that I am bi and kick me out.
i know it has several times until i erased my myspace it was hacked and they were posting things like yea im a fat *** and that i was a whore
one comment they did every time was that my dad raped me every night before i went to bed. the sent messages to my friends calling them bad names and one still wont talk to me. They went too far when they sent a message to my teacher calling her a fat b****and told her my dad raped me. Child services was called and when they got to my house they helpee me to erase my myspace on the spot. My dad left me 3 months before and the one who hacked me and said he raped me was my x boyfriend. He knew my dad left and when i dumped him he stabbed me in the back we all need to watch what we tell people even those who you think you can trust

Yes i think online bullying has gone to far. Many cases where teens have killed themselves as been from online bullying. An example of this would be the case where the mom setup a myspace page to terrorize her daughters friend. The friend ended up taking her life after the messages about how nobody liked her and she should go kill herself. I think online bullying is worse for many reasons. This is because people may be more pron to not believe someone who may be suffering from online bullying. It's less likely to be reported for this reason I feel.
this subject is very important,I have been cyber bullied many times, and I can't pretend I don't know why. I am very outspoken, I speak out against things I think are wrong, I don't hide who I am!
I am an easy target. I've never been cyber bullied by anyone I know, but almost daily by strangers. I am not afraid to stand up and say that I am a radical, Pagan, Unschooled, dyslexic, illiterate, queer,antiestablishment, pro-choice-er, with lesbian parents!! so I get a fair bit of bullying both in my real life, and online life! and as I said in the beginning, I can't pretend I don't know why.
