Hearts for the hopeless

Back to 'Poverty' forum.

Hello everybody, I live in Greenville SC. I really want to start making a differnce in our city, this past school year has been a real ey-opener for me. My leadership teacher showed me a lot about helping out and I really would like to try to. So if anyone has any ideas on anything that has to do with this subject PLEASE let me know!
Thanks!

what are some of the problems in your community. Not to sound nosy but to change something you need to know what that something is.

Look Up :)
A good way to help your community, for one is just by being a good person and role model for your fellow citizens. You don't necessarily have to start a giant rally or give some political speech. Being a good and credible citizen is easier than it may seem. The best way to approach this is by finding a cause in your community in which, you are passionate about and acing on in the best way possible. This means like say you love music, and you see a problem caused by lack of money- you could start a benefit concert. Another thing about being a good citizen is gtting good education and having knowlegde of your community's efforts and actions, by doing this you give yourself an advantage in participation.-just the beginning :)

I have recently started this project called "Cards for Kids" in which I send handmade and painted cards to kids facing homelessness, poverty, or a difficult situation worldwide. You can check out my website http://cardsforkids.weebly.com if you would like to become involved.
