It will take at least ten years before drilling will affect gas prices in the U.S., and even then the effect on prices will be miniscule. If anything, the gas crisis is proof that we need to start looking into alternative fuels and energy sources. Not only would this resolve the issue of our scary dependence on foreign oil, but it's also better for our environment.

I let my religion help me to decide what side I should take on an issue such as abortion. What's the point in having a religion if you don't let it affect how you act or view situations? Neither one is capable of being the type of leader we need at the moment. Ron Paul was by far the better choice, and he dropped out. Ralph Nader is a good canidate as weel, but we are in need of a GREAT leader. And so far I am not impressed with any of the canidates.

I let my religion help me to decide what side I should take on an issue such as abortion. What's the point in having a religion if you don't let it affect how you act or view situations? It's one thing to say you believe in something, it's another thing to act with that belief in mind. Also, I understand that some people don't have a religion and I don't have a problem with that. For those people who do have a religion, I hope that they do let it affect their everyday lives.
I think that religion should NEVER be brought into everyday life. I also don't think that we need a set of rules to follow. I thank you for saying u don't have a problem with people who don't have a religion. I don't so I love that for once i hear someone saying they don't care, I am always being told that I am a sinner, I am going to hell for what i read, listen to, and believe. NO ONE should be told what they should believe. I also love how the kids in my class who got o church and believe in god, i really don't care that they do, but they call me emo cause i read about VAMPIRES, and great books. So is this the kind of thing they should follow? Telling others there different for reading, not american for not liking candy, soda, junk food and that some don't eat meat. ( see in my religious school this is what i am told.) And I was made fun of by these people. In everyday life, you shouldn't try to be like god, you should be the best, funny person you are. And while voting you should never mix religion in, politics and religion are to very different things, politics everyone follows, almost all of america believe in it, religion, half of america do not believe in this. You should follow who you think will help. I picked Obama, not for his color, or that everyone else is, no, I am 13 and I love what I believe what he can do, WHY DOES IT MATTER IF HE GOES TO CHRUCH OR NOT? We had an actor for president once, look at that. So I think this should never ever be together. I will say it a million times till that goes through peoples heads. bUt this is america so were spilt in two, you can believe that religion should be in everyday life and I will believe that it shouldn't.
: I'm a very reliougous 14 year old Catholic girl and I think that besides the fact of religon about the deal of abortion think of it as killing an innocient child . An abortion is a murder we have laws about murder . So why is it ok to kill a child that hasen't even seen the world yet . Murder is wrong and when you aborte a child you are killing ,MURDERING a baby. Do any of you people belive in killing your baby sister or brother or cousin or anyone at ANY AGE .I HOPE NOT!! Those of you who think that a abourtion is NOT wrong because you think that killing a baby in a mothers stomatch is not bad becuase you think there not living or you think there not fully devoleped. Also if the woman of this child didn't want to have the baby then she should not have had sex. and if a woman unfortnly got raped there is a 24 hour period were a woman can get an abortion when the baby is not even devoleped yet .ONLY IN THAT 24 HOUR PERIOD .

So, if this happened to you, would you really have the baby and look at the baby's face and see the big man that raped you every time you look at that baby??? I'm surely positive the answer is NO! Although I am pro-choice, I also followed McCain throughout the entire election, hoping he would win. I believe what this country needs is experience and expertise, and not everyone's best friend. I believe that Obama is simply not experienced enough to handle some of our country's faults. However, I hope he proves me wrong.
I wanted Obama to win and am so glad he is now our new president. I did not agree with McCain, nor did I wish him to be my new president. Especially after he made the incredibly stupid choice of picking Sarah Palin as his running mate. I did not believe that old fart would run the US well.

John McCain all the way... I hate that he lost, but I still support the man and his morals. I was able to meet with him and talk for about five minutes while he was here in Colorado, I'm proud to say I'm Republican, and that the wrong man was chosen for the job of Commander and Chief.

Neither one is capable of being the type of leader we need at the moment. Ron Paul was by far the better choice, and he dropped out. Ralph Nader is a good canidate as weel, but we are in need of a GREAT leader. And so far I am not impressed with any of the canidates.

At the time, Obama was the correct choice, I was for him, however currently he is not, and McCain will never be. However, I didn't vote so I can't complain. Also, the US was dug into a very deep hole, with any president, it will take forever to get us out. Thank you G. W. Bush.

McCain probably would have won if it were not for two things:
1) He would have won if he did not choose Palin as a running mate
2) He would have won if they did not continually call Obama a socialist
The media holding a spotlight on Obama wasn't helpful for McCain's case.
I will have to say OBAMA is better president. People thought that he wouldn't even gotten this far but look where he's at right now . He have passed the law about being on your parents insurance till 26 years of age which i believe is wonderful ! If he keeps this work up then who knows how the country will be 2-4 years from now .
